This June, a defining gathering for the future of wine comes to Santa Barbara—and you’re invited.

Today is Earth Day. At Groundstar Vineyard & Estate, our work is grounded in a simple belief: healthy soils create resilient vineyards, vibrant ecosystems, more expressive wines, and thriving communities.
This perspective—developed through our work on the land—shapes how we think about the future of the wine industry, and underscores the importance of this new symposium.
The MINDSET Symposium (June 8–10, 2026), officially titled MINDSET: Regeneration & Resilience, is a regenerative viticulture symposium bringing together a global group of growers, winemakers, scientists, and thought leaders to focus on one of the most important conversations in wine today: the transition to regenerative viticulture.
At its core, MINDSET is not just a conference—it’s an intentional coming together of people who believe that the future of wine depends on how we care for the land.
What makes MINDSET especially compelling is the intention behind it. Whether you work in production, sales, education—or are simply an engaged enthusiast—there is a place for you in the conversation.
Groundstar’s Role
Groundstar is proud to participate as a Trellis Sponsor of MINDSET, supporting a shared vision for the future of regenerative agriculture in wine.
Groundstar’s approach has always been grounded in the belief that vineyard stewardship and wine quality are inseparable—and that farming decisions made today shape not only the wines produced, but the long-term vitality of the land and the future of our industry.
As part of this involvement, we are also excited to share that Groundstar’s Co-Founder, Chiara Shannon, will join the symposium as a featured speaker. Her work sits at the intersection of vineyard stewardship, site expression, and wine quality, and reflects a broader commitment to advancing regenerative practices within the wine industry.
She will be participating as a speaker in the Critical Questions Forum on Wednesday, June 10—a session designed to foster structured, evidence-based dialogue around the most pressing questions facing our industry.
From Awareness to Action
A defining element of MINDSET is its integration of ideas with lived experience.
The final day of the symposium (June 10) will conclude with a Regenerative Wine Tasting, featuring approximately 10–15 producers actively engaged in regenerative winegrowing. The tasting offers a rare opportunity to explore wines that express both place and a shared commitment to soil health, biodiversity, and ecological balance.
Participating producers are expected to include Groundstar-Grown partners Story of Soil and Camins2Dreams, along with other noted regenerative producers including Phelan Farm, Tablas Creek, Halter Ranch, Hope Well Wine, Salcheto, Âmevive, Babcock Winery & Vineyards, Grgich Hills, Bedrock Wine Co., Robert Hall, Booker Wines, Inkwell Wines, and Reyneke Wines, among others.
These producers represent a growing movement within the wine world—one defined not only by philosophy, but by action.

Why This Regenerative Viticulture Symposium Matters Now
The wine industry is at an inflection point.
Conversations around climate, farming, and sustainability have moved from the margins to the center, shaping how quality, resilience, and long-term viability are understood across regions.
MINDSET reflects this shift—bringing together diverse perspectives to move from awareness toward meaningful, collective action.
